4 Amazing Hot Springs Near Denver

When you come to Denver, you might enjoy a long day of hiking in the mountains or exploring the city. But that can get quite tiring, and you might find yourself in need of a more relaxing activity.

Why not try out a hot spring near Denver?

Natural hot springs are geothermally heated from Earth’s mantle, and some places have designed man-made hot springs that still give your body the healing benefits of mineral bathing.

Here are a few of our recommendations for hot springs near Denver.

1. Overlook Hot Springs in Pagosa, Colorado

The Overlook Hot Springs Spa in Pagosa, Colorado is a spa that offers three rooftop tubs and five indoor pools. The water is rich in minerals to create a relaxing, healing effect much like a natural hot spring. It’s five hours away from Denver, so you might plan on making a weekend out of this visit.

The rates are $16.00 for a hot mineral bath, or $60 per hour for a private room for two people.

We love that you can chill out on a rooftop with your friends while enjoying a nice beverage, or enjoy a romantic moment of relaxation with your loved one. Oh, and we love the self-described Victorian ambience that Overlook boasts.

2. Strawberry Park Hot Springs in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Visit Strawberry Park Hot Springs if you are looking for a natural hot spring experience that’s just three hours away from Denver. These waters run about 104 degrees year-round.

Admission is $20 per person for the day for all ages.

This facility also offers overnight rentals and plenty of nearby hiking, so you can combine all of your favorite Colorado activities in one weekend. The rustic vibes of Strawberry Park Hot Springs is the perfect way to escape city-living for a few days.

3. Merrifield Homestead Cabins & Hot Springs in Buena Vista, Colorado

You’ll definitely want to check out Merrifield Homestead Cabins & Hot Springs if you’re interested in a cozy cabin with it’s own private hot spring. This resort has two cabins with custom hot springs, which means you’ll get the quiet escape you’ve always dreamed of.

Lodging costs from $350.00-$450.00 per night, but we think it’s worth it for the luxury you get to experience here. It’s also only two and a half hours away from Denver!

Although the cabins are secluded, we love that you won’t feel far away from other fun activities.

This resort is close to other amenities like golfing, breweries, and a drive-in theater. You can go out and have fun, and return to your oasis for a night-time mineral soak, or you never have to leave!

4. Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Iron Mountain Hot Springs offer 16 mineral hot springs that overlook the Colorado River. This destination is under three hours away from Denver.

Rates are $25 per person for a full day, which also includes access to a family pool.

This facility was bought and turned into a spa in 1896! It has been purchased and revamped numerous times, with the current owners going strong since 2015. We think it’s awesome how much love this place has gotten over the years.

Who’s ready for a mineral soak?

We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling the urge to drive out to one of these awesome hot springs (all within driving distance from Denver) to enjoy the natural healing powers of Earth’s minerals.
